Even an Off Week isn't enough to keep the bad news from coming for Florida State. Head coach Mike Norvell said today that quarterback Tommy Castellanos is day-to-day ahead of this Saturday's game against Wake Forest.
Norvell said that if the Seminoles had played over the weekend, Castellanos would have been out. Castellanos left the game late against Stanford on Oct. 18 after taking a hit to the head while sliding. The quarterback has also been dealing with a nagging leg injury, though he managed to play through it in each of the last three games.
Norvell appeared optimistic for Castellanos' availability this week, however. He said the quarterback made "real progress" toward the end of the week off.
"We'll see how everything plays out this week," Norvell said.

Dual-threat freshman quarterback Kevin Sperry has received the lion's share of backup duties for FSU, completing 12 of 17 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns. He also has seven rushes for 27 yards.
Sperry was a four-star signee for Norvell and a consensus Top 15 quarterback nationally in the 2025 signing class.
Norvell also said true freshman receiver Jayvon Boggs will be out this week against Wake Forest.
The injuries come at a bad time for FSU, as the Seminoles desperately need a win to end their four-game losing skid. Norvell received a bit of cushion last week when Athletic Director Michael Alford announced that no decision will be made on Norvell's future until the end of the season. However, a loss at home to unranked Wake Forest could be enough to end that grace period.
FSU and Wake Forest kick off at 7:30 p.m. on ACC Network this Saturday, Nov. 1.
