Key linebacker Aiden Fisher's probable return bolsters Indiana's undefeated pursuit, offering a crucial boost to their dominant defense.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana coach Curt Cignetti announced that linebacker Aiden Fisher is probable for Indiana's game at Maryland this week. Fisher left Indiana's game against UCLA in the first half on Saturday with a knee injury.

Fisher is second on the Hoosiers with 49 total tackles this season. He got a pick six on the second play of Indiana's 56-6 win over UCLA on Saturday.

After transferring to Indiana from James Madison when Cignetti made the move to Bloomington, Fisher was named first-team All-Big Ten in 2024 when he led Indiana with 118 tackles. He commands Indiana's defense from the inside linebacker spot, where he has the microphone communication with Indiana's coaching staff.

Indiana played less three-linebacker sets without Fisher in the lineup on Saturday. Defensive back Devan Boykin played in the rover spot with Fisher sidelined, and intercepted a pass in the second half.

The Hoosiers are 8-0 and looking for their first undefeated regular season in program history. If Fisher doesn't have to miss any games, their pursuit of that goal will be made easier.
