Kansas State fans don't really have a lot to look forward to each Saturday, as their 2-4 team continues to disappoint and show no real signs of improvement.

But if they need someone to root for, they can just tune into football on Sundays instead, as several of their former stars are off to trailblazing starts in the NFL. San Francisco 49ers safety Marques Sigle had the game-winning tackle against the Rams last Thursday, and now Jacob Parrish is continuing to establish himself as a threat in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' secondary.

CBS Sports lauded Parrish's performance in the win over Seattle, where he recorded a team-high nine tackles.

“Parrish recorded nine tackles (five solo) in the Buccaneers' 38-35 win over the Seahawks on Sunday,” the article wrote. “Parrish played on 97 percent of the snaps -- 59 total -- and was highly active during his time on the field, tying Lavonte David for the team lead in tackles. The rookie third-round pick set a new career high in stops with his tally, which was partly the result of the Buccaneers being without Jamel Dean, Benjamin Morrison, and Christian Izien in the secondary for Sunday's contest. Parrish could fill an elevated role again in a Week 6 home matchup against the 49ers if some or all of the aforementioned trio remains sidelined.”

During his time at Kansas State, Parrish had 102 tackles, five tackles for loss, five interceptions, and 23 pass deflections. Tampa Bay selected him in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft to help elevate a struggling pass defense.

And well, so far so good. Tampa Bay sits firmly atop the NFC South, trailblazing as one of the conference's top contenders. Meanwhile, Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles had nothing but positive things to say about Parrish's game against the Seahawks.

"I thought that was a lot on Parrish's plate, but he handled it well," Bowles said in his postgame interview. "He had a pass interference, but I thought it was good coverage in that respect. To go outside and inside is not easy, especially with the game plan."

The Buccaneers play the 49ers on Sunday afternoon, as the former Wildcats Parrish and Sigle will face off against each other.
