    Vitals: Kansas (5–2) closes out its three-day stretch in Las Vegas by facing No. 17 Tennessee (7–0) in the third-place game at the Players Era Festival. The Jayhawks are coming off a 71–60 win over Syracuse behind double-doubles from Tre White and Flory Bidunga. Tennessee is coming off a huge 76-73 win over No. 3 Houston. Both schools went 2-0 in the group play stage and will now play for third place in the tournament. Kansas continues to be without star freshman guard Darryn Peterson due to a hamstring strain.
