Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman Rueben Bain is a nightmare for most defensive coordinators and offensive players trying to block him.

He's also a menace for whoever has to lock up the Hurricanes training facility at night. Bain recently revealed how much time he puts in studying film on a daily basis.

"I stay here every night until 10 o'clock," Bain told reporters earlier this week. "Before meetings, after meetings and sometimes in class, I'm watching film. Just doing the same thing over and over again, not getting tired with it and really making sure I'm honing in on the small details."

It has led to Bain putting up big numbers this season. He is the Hurricanes' fourth-leading tackler with 28 and third in tackles for loss with 3.5. He ranks second in sacks (2).

Those numbers would likely be higher if not for facing constant double-teams.

"I feel like every team's taking kind of the same approach, just believing in their guys and what they got up front," Bain said. "But I'm just trying to play football, attacking in the way I can, one play at a time, playing fast, no matter who in front of me or what scheme I have got to face."

Expect Bain to play a key role in Saturday's game against SMU in Dallas. The Hurricanes are hoping to avoid upset so they can keep alive their College Football Playoff hopes.

Even though the `Canes are heavily favored, Bain is taking the game serious as playing the Florida Gators or Florida State Seminoles.

"That's a big, physical o-line," Bain said. "A great quarterback with great guys on the perimeter. Overall, that's a good offense. You can see why they made it all the way so far last year and this year. They're doing a good job so far and they're playing football the right way. They're physical, they're big, they're fast, they're quick, long arms and everything. They're playing football the right way and they've got all the tangling you need."
