
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri Tigers fell to No.-3-ranked Texas A&M 38-17 Saturday, essentially ending their season by all-but-officially eliminating them from the College Football Playoff. The loss was the worst single-game point differential of Missouri's season, and moved the Tigers to 6-3.
The loss also dropped Missouri out of the AP Top 25 Poll.

Missouri dropped eight spots from No. 19 to No. 27, and have now dropped 11 total spots in the last two weeks in which it played a game. This is the first time Missouri is unranked since Week 2, just ahead of its Border War victory against Kansas.
Missouri is essentially the 27th ranked team in the nation, following the voting points. Its the eighth-highest ranked Southeastern Conference team, and highest non-ranked SEC squad. It trails Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and Tennessee.
The Tigers have lost to Texas A&M, Alabama and Vanderbilt this season, and are set to play Oklahoma Nov. 22 in Norman. Missouri is now 0-6 against ranked conference opponents in the past two seasons, and will have its last shot at redemption against the Sooners.
The Tigers could bounce back and find themselves return to the top 25 with a strong outing against Mississippi State next week.
While the AP voters dropped the Tigers fully out of the top 25, the LBM Coaches Poll was a little less harsh.

The coaches still dropped Missouri seven spots in the rankings, sandwiching the Tigers between Pittsburgh and James Madison. Missouri is still the eighth-highest ranked SEC squad, trailing all the same teams it did in the AP Top 25.
The Tigers are one of two three-loss teams to crack the coaches rendition of the top 25, joining the 6-3 Tennessee Volunteers.
