We thought it would be a clean sheet for the Wildcats' injury report in the opener, but a surprise name has popped up on the Big Ten Availability Report. Sophomore guard Angelo Ciaravino is OUT for Northwestern's season-opening game against Mercyhurst.

Ciaravino started both exhibition games for the 'Cats this preseason. Against Iowa State, he posted eight points, three rebounds, two blocks and two steals, making two of his three shots from deep. The Chicago native also finished with 11 points and four boards against the Illinois State Redbirds.

On the bright side, Northwestern freshman point guard Jake West is good to go tonight after missing both exhibition matches with a concussion.
