Notre Dame advanced to 6-2 on the season and was able to overcome a sloppy start to their road trip to Boston College. The Irish defense held the Eagles to 10 points, but looked extremely sloppy at times. The offense wasn't able to start fast, but thanks to some big plays, was able to put ... points on the board. This team has a ways to go before they can be thought of as a team capable of a playoff run. The offensive line today showed their inexperience and youth and didn't play too well, especially along the interior. This team, as a whole, looked undisciplined and is in need of some major improvements this upcoming week. With that being said, the Irish still put up ... total yards of offense and held Boston College to 10 points. Head coach Marcus Freeman talked through their sloppy win this evening.

Here are some of the main quotes from today's post-game press conference
"The issues were, every time we kicked the ball, it did not go in-between the field goal post," Freeman said jokingly. "That's the issue. We're going to keep putting guys in there until we can consistently have somebody put the ball through the field goal post. We have three kickers, but if you're rotating three kickers, you don't have one. We'll figure out, physically, what it is with Noah [Burnette], but we have to do what we do in practice better in the game. That's the situation. Our team deserves for us to be able to make extra points and field goals. For us to reach the potential that we believe we have, we better fix it with urgency."
"This isn't the first team that's tried to load the box," Freeman explained. "We probably had a different plan coming into this. We can't fumble the ball on the plus-five yard line. We were getting ready to score points and we fumble the ball. We have to take care of the football and when we have chances to score touchdowns, we have to score. We didn't do that enough; we did it enough to win but not enough to our standard."
"Protect the football," Freeman stated. "Continue to focus on it in practice and then on Saturday, go ball and do what you do. He's earned a lot of confidence and credibility from this coaching staff because of the proof in what he's done in the last three years here. We're going to play him a lot, we're going to give him the ball, we're going to let Jadarian [Price] be him and we have to attack it at practice. We can't be insane and not say anything about it; we have to continue to work on it in practice and focus on ball security. We're going to get him the ball and let him go."
