Notre Dame secures sixth straight win, overcoming upsets to climb two spots to No. 10 in the AP Top 25.

Notre Dame survived a weekend full of upsets and ultimately won a sixth straight game. It wasn't always pretty but the Irish went on the road and bested Boston College by a 25-10 score. The result, and the upsets that surrounded the Irish victory, allowed Notre Dame to move up two spots to No. 10 in the latest Associated Press Top 25.

Notre Dame entered the season ranked No. 6 in the AP Top 25, but fell to No. 24 after its week three loss to Texas A&M. Notre Dame became the first team since Michigan in 1988 to lose their first two games and remain in the AP Top 25. The Irish have been steadily climbing, and they are now back in the Top 25 for the first time since week three.

Notre Dame jumped ahead of Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech and Miami. All three of those teams lost this weekend, and Miami has now lost two of their last three games. The loss on the road to an unranked SMU team was not received well by voters, who dropped the Hurricanes eight spots and behind the Irish, who they beat in week one.

The AP voters also corrected their mistake from the last two weeks, which was putting Michigan ahead of USC. The Trojans jumped up three spots after their road win over Nebraska. USC beat Michigan three weeks ago (31-13) and they have won two of their last three games, with both wins coming over teams with a winning record.

Notre Dame's last loss came in week three against Texas A&M, and the Aggies remained at No. 3 after getting their final bye of the season. Notre Dame's final four games don't have any AP Top 25 teams on it, but the Irish do play Pittsburgh, who is third in the "Others Receiving Votes" category. The Panthers are off next weekend so some upsets could result in them jumping into the Top 25 before they play Notre Dame.

Here is the complete AP top 25:

    2. Indiana Hoosiers (9-0)
