Notre Dame has wrapped up their second and final bye week of the regular season. They hit the road this week, for the first time since September 27th when they travel to Chestnut Hill to take on the 1-7 Boston College Eagles. This is Notre Dame's first time playing Boston College on the road since 2020; their last meeting was in 2022 on Senior Day and the Irish emerged victorious 44-0. Today, Notre Dame's linebacker coach Max Bullough, along with several offensive and defensive players, talked after practice about their season's recap up to this point, improvements in the bye week and their matchup with Boston College. Notre Dame has won nine straight games against the Eagles and will look to expand that win-streak to 10 games in a row this weekend.

Here are some of the main quotes from today's post-practice press conference:

Max Bullough On An Underrated Part Of Drayk Bowen And Kyngston Viliamu-Asa's Game

"I think people look at Drayk [Bowen] and they stereotype him and not think he can cover running backs out of the backfield," Bullough said. "Can that guy cover tight ends? I'll tell you right now, he can cover them with the best of them. That's something he's gotten really good at; he's worked at it. He's 235-pounds right now and he can run with any of them. If you're asking about Drayk, that would be the answer for him. For KVA, you pretty much see everything he's got on Saturdays man. He can make plays at a lot of different spots whether it's on the line of scrimmage blitzing or playing stack linebacker. He can move; his shoulder and hip separation is second to none. I don't think Kyngstonn is hiding anything from anybody. You're seeing what Kyngstonn is an he's a special player."

CJ Carr On If The Bye Week Helped Him Reset

"For sure," Carr answered. "It was good to go home and see the family for a little bit and hangout. I went to my brother's high school game so it was cool to be able to watch a game from a fan's perspective instead of playing in one."

Tae Johnson On Where The Game Has Slowed Down For Him

"Everywhere to be honest," Johnson explained. "Every game, every day I'm learning new stuff and different things. It's slowing down every where to be honest. The biggest thing for me has been the run fits and the run gaps. I feel like that's where I needed to improve in my game to be a complete safety. That's definitely slowed down. It still has a ways to go as far as that aspect of the game."

Jason Onye On How Much Confidence The USC Game Gave Him

"It gave me a lot of confidence being able to play the brand of football that I know I'm capable of playing," Onye stated. "The thing I have to keep working on, if I'm being honest, is being consistent with it. I have to expect that same level of play from myself each and every Saturday."

Joe Otting On Where His Game Has Evolved Since He's Gotten To Notre Dame

"I've evolved in my strength," Otting explained. "I've been getting off the ball and working on communication with my guys and playing for my brother next to me. Lastly, I'd say my pass-pro has gotten a lot better. Coming from a Wing-T offense, it's really weird but it's definitely gotten a lot better."
