    The College Football Playoff selection committee released its first of six rankings on Tuesday night and Ohio State was their No. 1 seed. The Buckeyes are also No. 1 in both the Associated Press and Coaches polls.

    The selection committee rankings don't different much from the national rankings. Here is their list. 

    1. Ohio State Buckeyes (8-0)
    2. Indiana Hoosiers (9-0)
    3. Texas A&M Aggies (8-0)
    4. Alabama Crimson Tide (7-1)
    5. Georgia Bulldogs  (7-1)
    6. Ole Miss Rebels (8-1)
    7. BYU Cougars (8-0)
    8. Texas Tech Red Raiders (8-1)
    9. Oregon Ducks (7-1)
    10. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (6-2)

    11. Texas Longhorns (7-2)
    12. Oklahoma Sooners (7-2)
    13. Utah Utes (7-2)
    14. Virginia Cavaliers (8-1)
    15. Louisville Cardinals (7-1)
    16. Vanderbilt Commodores (7-2)
    17. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (8-1)

    The 12-team playoff field will be set on Sunday, Dec. 7. The top-four seeds get byes, while four first-round games will be played on home campuses.

    The Big Ten, SEC, ACC and Big 12 champions get automatic bids, along with the highest-ranked team from one of the other conferences. Memphis is that team for now. The Virginia Cavaliers are the highest-ranked ACC team right now, so they would get a bid, too. Here's how the pairings would go as of these rankings. There are four weeks remaining in the regular season.

    No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 12 Memphis, with the winner facing No. 4 Alabama.

    No. 6 Ole Miss vs. No. 11 Virginia, with the winner facing No. 3 Texas A&M

    No. 7 BYU vs. No. 10 Notre Dame, with the winner facing No. 2 Indiana

    No. 8 Texas Tech vs. No. 9 Oregon, with the winner facing No. 1 Ohio State
