Both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Washington Huskies are putting their impressive win streaks on the line Saturday afternoon.

On a cold October night in 2018, the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes traveled to West Lafayette, Indiana, to take on the 3-3 Purdue Boilermakers. Ohio State was a clean 7-0 and had visions of a national championship.

Rondale Moore and the Purdue Boilermakers had something else on their minds. Purdue took a 14-3 lead into halftime and extended it to 21-6 into the fourth quarter. The onslaught was on in the final frame, as Purdue scored 28 more points en route to a 49-20 victory.

Buckeye fans everywhere remember where they were that night, as it was one of the most disappointing games in recent Ohio State history. It was also the last time that the Buckeyes lost on the road to an unranked opponent. Since then, they have ripped off 19 straight road victories over unranked opponents and are getting their chance at another one Saturday.

The Huskies have to look back at the 2021 Apple Cup matchup against rival Washington State as their last loss inside of Husky Stadium. In that game, they gave up 129 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to Max Borghi. Washington quarterback Sam Huard threw four interceptions for the purple and gold on a regretful day.

Since that night, the Huskies have ripped off 22 straight wins at home, which is in serious jeopardy in Week 5.

Ohio State will have ...

Both of these programs are proud, but neither of them is concerned about the streaks that they are on; they just want to win the football game.

A win for Ohio State would go a long way in developing this 2025 group. The current iteration of the Buckeyes has a lot of experience left to gain at several key positions, including quarterback.

This will mark Julian Sayin's first road start in his college career and the toughest environment he will face until the trip up north in November.

For Washington, a win could catapult them into the national conversation. At 3-0 with victories over inferior competition, the Huskies have the chance to register a marquee victory over a top-ranked team that will immediately put them in the College Football Playoff conversation.

The storylines on Saturday are vast, but something will have to give between these two programs.

Either Ohio State's 19-game road win streak snaps or Washington loses a 22-game home win streak, which will make for an incredible game in Seattle.
