Oklahoma State's women's basketball team will play its second contest of the year. Wednesday’s contest is the second of a five-game home stretch to open the campaign. Oklahoma State women’s team is navigating a stretch of five games in nine days to start the year. This is the first game of back-to-back contests for the Cowgirls. Wednesday night against East Texas A&M and Thursday against Langston. These next two matchups will mark the first time Oklahoma State women’s basketball team has played home games on consecutive nights since December 5th and 6th, 2003 when the Cowgirls hosted Sam Houston State and Fresno State as part of the Cowgirl Classic.

The Cowgirls opponent, the East Texas A&M Lions, are coming off 113-48 win against the University of North Texas – Dallas on Monday night. Freshman guard, Sarah Gatwech was very impressive for the Lions. In just 18 minutes of play, Gatwech shot 81.8% from the field and scored 23 points. The Cowgirls will look to and need to slow Gatwech down if they want to see a similar result like they did on Monday against New Orleans.

Cowgirl Player to watch in game two:

    Senior Guard – Haleigh Timmer:

The Cowgirl senior made her way to Stillwater after spending four years as a member of the South Dakota State program. Timmer played in 106 games and made 77 starts over three seasons for the Jackrabbits before transferring to Oklahoma State. The senior guard averaged 12.8 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest with South Dakota State.

In her first game as a Cowgirl, Timmer went 7-for-11 from the floor, four of the makes came from beyond the arc, where she went 50%. Timmer managed 18 points in the game against New Orleans.

Expect the sharpshooter to continue making it rain from the three point line on Wednesday night against East Texas A&M.
