Oklahoma State is on a bye week this week - Let’s break down other Big 12 contests and other prominent games that are must watch

The Oklahoma State Cowboys football team does not play this Saturday. I repeat, the Oklahoma State Cowboys football team does not play this Saturday. If you’re a Cowboys fan, what everwill you do without Saturday Poke programming? Cowboy fans will be the beneficiary of not losing this week, I can tell you that much. You can’t lose to the bye week.

So, take solace, Oklahoma State Loyal & True. The Sooners are also on a bye week, so unless you have real interest in the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricanes, you can take it easy this Saturday.

However, if you’re like me, and nothing will stop you from College Gameday and waking up for Kirk and the crew, we’ve put together a bit of a Bye Week Bucket List. If you are a victim of the YouTube/Google and Disney/ESPN debacle, there are other ways to watch…though I’ll keep my “sailing the seven seas sources” to myself for fear of retribution.

That being said, I present to you a schedule of curated games to satisfy your college football wants and needs, despite being Cowboy-free this weekend, with complimentary added notes at no further charge. Cheers to the weekend, Cowboys and Cowgirls.

    BIG 12 GAMES –

    Houston (7-2) at UCF (4-4) – 7:00PM – Friday – FS1-

At the time of writing, the Houston – UCF game was tied up. If you were able to get FS1, you might’ve had a good Big 12 viewing night.

    Colorado (3-6) at West Virginia (3-6) – 11:00AM – Saturday – TNT-

The Mountaineers were able to defeat the Houston Cougars last week. Despite not having a great season, WVU has had their moments. I do believe they should be the Colorado Buffaloes.

    No. 7 BYU (8-0) at No. 8 Texas Tech (8-1) – 11:00AM –Saturday – ABC-

College Football Gameday will be in Lubbock, Saturday morning. Can the Texas Tech Raiders continue their Cinderella season? Can the ‘under-the-radar” BYU team make a push for the playoffs? I’m excited to find out early on Saturday.

    Iowa State (5-4) at TCU (6-2) – 2:30PM – Saturday – FOX

    - Iowa State suffered from having a lack of talent at the wide receiver position early on. Iowa State QB, Rocco Becht eased that notion, but it wouldn’t save the defense from losing top defensive backs. The Cyclones can’t catch a break. I expect TCU to win on Saturday.

    Kansas (5-4) at Arizona (5-3) – 2:30PM – Saturday – ESPN2

    - Both Kansas and Arizona had higher aspirations for the 2025-2026. Both programs are led by good quarterbacks, but the respective programs have yet to pan out this year. Expect this game to be a classic Big 12 Shootout.
