    Series:

The Cowgirls lead the series, all-time, against Oral Roberts, 31 wins to 15 losses. Oklahoma State Women’s team won the most recent meeting, 11/07/2024, 89-68. The Cowgirls are currently on an eleven-game win streak against the Golden Eagles and will look to push it to twelve on Sunday evening. The Oklahoma State Women’s basketball team first faced Oral Roberts starting in 1976. The Cowgirls last loss to the Golden Eagles came in 2005. That loss was part of a 3-game losing streak against ORU that saw a matchup played in Cancun, Mexico, in December 2002.

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team will play its fourth contest of the year. Sunday’s contest is the fourth of a five-game home stretch to open the campaign. The contest will serve as OSU's annual N7 game and the Cowgirls will wear turquoise uniforms as part of Nike's N7 Fund initiative which focuses on helping youth in Native American and Indigenous communities in North America lead healthier, happier, and more successful lives. Cowgirl sisters, Stailee and Tyla Heard, are registered Creek, Sac and Fox, Seneca-Cayuga, Wyandotte, and Seminole.

In their last matchup, the Cowgirls blew the doors off the Langston Lady Lions, 105-35. That game saw Cowgirl and daughter of MLB’s Joe Girardi, Lena Girardi, drop a game high 29 points, which came on 9-from-16 shooting from the arc. The nine made three pointers broke the Cowgirls program record for the most three pointers made from a freshman. Oklahoma State players, Amari Whiting and Micah Gray, both, added 15 points in the contest against Langston.

The Cowgirls opponent, the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, play their first road game of the season. The Golden Eagles are undefeated coming into Sunday evening, having wins over Friends and Haskell to start the year. Redshirt senior guard, Jalei Oglesby, was picked as a preseason All-Summit League selection.

Cowgirl Player to watch in game four:

    Freshman Guard – Lena Girardi:

As I previously mentioned, Girardi is the daughter of MLB famous Joe Girardi. Those aren’t bad genes to have in Stillwater. Girardi proved that in the last matchup, dropping 29 points and breaking school records. I’m betting on Girardi again on Sunday afternoon as she’ll look to continue her impressive freshman campaign. Look for her, again, to score double digits against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles.
