Penn State looked like a decent team against Ohio State in the first half, but was eventually dismantled when it mattered most. Ohio State outscored the Nittany Lions 21-0, en route to its eighth straight win of the season, sitting at 8-0 on the year and 5-0 in the Big Ten.

Penn State, arguably the worst team in the Big Ten at the moment, now sits at 0-5 in conference and 3-5 overall.

This was a much different game than the typical Penn State vs. Ohio State matchup for many reasons, but after moving on from James Franklin, most didn't expect this game to have juice.

It's unfortunate for the students at both universities, the fans, and everyone involved, but Ohio State ultimately did what it had to do, while Penn State didn't.

When speaking to reporters after the game, Ryan Day was still very hyped about getting a win against Penn State, which just goes to show the status of the program, despite how poorly it's played throughout the year.

"Going into halftime, those last five minutes were not really good," Day said, per Braulio Perez. "It put a bad taste in everybody's mouth at halftime. We talk about coming into halftime and you're either winning, losing or tied and then we have to move on. We were up by three going in and we had to come down and get a quick score there to start the second half and then we started playing complimentary football. I thought the energy was great in the second half."

I said it before the game, and I'll continue to say it.

If Ohio State had an opportunity to take down Penn State with relative ease, and did just that.

Ohio State had the opportunity to blow Penn State out, and while the final score might not be as bad as it could’ve been with Ohio State winning 38-14, this was still a blowout win against a team that has talent.

Penn State and Ohio State won't play each other over the next two years in the Big Ten regular season, so the Nittany Lions won't have to worry about Day and his stars moving forward.
