The Texas A&M men's basketball team isn't easing into its toughest stretch, it's sprinting into it with flames shooting out the back.
After hanging 100-plus in consecutive games, including a 120–84 detonation of Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday, the Aggies head to Tampa on Friday for the Battle of the Bay against Florida State.

The Maroon & White are riding a wave of offensive explosions, scoring the second-most points in program history and the most ever inside Reed Arena in Tuesday's win.
Mackenzie Mgbako finally unleashed his full arsenal, dropping 19 points and drilling three threes in his first major minutes of the season. Ruben Dominguez and Zach Clemence kept the fire going with 15 apiece.
Dominguez has become one of the most dangerous long-range shooters in the country, ranking fifth nationally with 26 made threes and averaging 3.7 per game.
As a team, the Aggies sit 14th nationally with 11.7 made threes per outing and second in college basketball with 21.4 assists per game, a pace-and-space whirlwind that has buried opponents over the past two weeks.
But A&M isn't just running up the score, it's ripping teams apart defensively.
The Aggies rank second in the SEC forcing 17.9 turnovers per game and sit top-five in both steals (9.0) and turnover margin (+6.3).
They've scored at least 19 points off miscues in six of seven games, suffocating opponents with pressure and converting every mistake into fuel.
And then there's the bench.
No team in America has more firepower waiting in the wings. A&M ranks second nationally, and first in the SEC, with 47.0 bench points per game, dominating the category in every contest this season.
Against Mississippi Valley State, the Aggies unloaded a season-high 66 points from non-starters, proving McMillan can go 10 deep without losing punch.
Florida State leads the all-time series 3–1, but history isn't stopping A&M from arriving with confidence.
The teams last met in the 2011 NCAA Tournament, but the Aggies' lone win came in Tallahassee back in 1956. Friday's showdown is a chance to rewrite that trend, and do it on national TV.
