The Aggies rallied for a stunning win over South Carolina, and now, a victory over Texas secures their path to Atlanta and the SEC Championship.
The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies stormed back from 27 points down to stun South Carolina and keep their undefeated SEC record intact. The late-game heroics didn't just save a win, they kept the road to Atlanta wide open.
At 7-0 in SEC play, the Aggies sit alone on top of the conference standings and can rightfully claim bragging rights as the league's top dog for the moment.
Behind them, Georgia lurks at 7-1, with Ole Miss and Alabama both sitting at 6-1 and hoping for one last twist in the title race.
For A&M, though, the equation is as clean as it gets ... beat Texas in two weeks, and the path to the SEC Championship Game is wide and clear.
The alternative is far less fun, relying on both Ole Miss and Alabama to stumble in the final weekend of the regular season. Mike Elko and his team know which option they prefer.
Before the showdown with the Longhorns, the Aggies still have business to handle against Samford, but the bigger picture is impossible to ignore.
Oklahoma, Texas, and Vanderbilt all sit at 4-2, technically alive but chasing from behind with marks that don’t quite match the top-tier Aggies.
Missouri, Tennessee, and LSU hover in the middle of the pack, while Kentucky and Florida are playing for bowl positioning and 2025 momentum. At the bottom, Mississippi State, Auburn, South Carolina, and winless-in-league Arkansas are just trying to stop the bleeding.
For A&M, it's a completely different vibe ... this is championship-caliber stress, the good kind. The destination is clear. It's Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, on December 6 at 3 p.m. ET on ABC.
Win out, and the Aggies aren’t just watching that game. They're in it. And after what they pulled off against South Carolina, it's hard not to believe this team has another magical chapter left to write.
