After weeks of receiving votes and coming close to a breakthrough, the Green Wave comes in at No. 24 in the Week 13 AP Top 25.

The Tulane Green Wave is ranked.

    Yes, you read that right.

The Green Wave received its first AP Top 25 ranking of the year, coming in at No. 24 in the latest polls. It's been a rollercoaster of a season for the team, and the polls have reflected it -- with the team receiving plenty of votes after a big win, then losing them all and having to climb back up after a loss.

The poll has seen a major shakeup as far as Group of Five teams go. Here's a look at the complete Week 13 rankings.

    1. Ohio State Buckeyes (10-0)

    2. Indiana Hoosiers (11-0)

    3. Texas A&M Aggies (10-0)

    4. Georgia Bulldogs (9-1)

    5. Ole Miss Rebels (10-1)

6-tie. Texas Tech Red Raiders (10-1)

    6-tie. Oregon Ducks (9-1)

    8. Oklahoma Sooners (8-2)

    9. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-2)

    10. Alabama Crimson Tide (8-2)

    11. BYU Cougars (9-1)

    12. Vanderbilt Commodores (8-2)

    13. Utah Utes (8-2)

    14. Miami Hurricanes (8-2)

    15. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (9-1)

    16. USC Trojans (8-2)

    17. Texas Longhorns (7-3)

    18. Michigan Wolverines (8-2)

    19. Virginia Cavaliers (9-2)

    20. Tennessee Volunteers (7-3)

    21. James Madison Dukes (9-1)

    22. North Texas Mean Green (9-1)

    23. Missouri Tigers (7-3)

    24. Tulane Green Wave (8-2)

    25. Houston Cougars (8-2)

Others receiving votes: Navy Midshipmen (61), Illinois Fighting Illini (31), SMU Mustangs (28), Arizona State Sun Devils (19), Louisville Cardinals (17), Iowa Hawkeyes (14), Pittsburgh Panthers (12), San Diego State Aztecs (12), Arizona Wildcats (9), UNLV Rebels (9), Washington Huskies (8), South Florida Bulls (6), East Carolina Pirates (4), UConn Huskies (1)

The American Conference witnessed a major upset over the weekend, as Navy took down the previous top contender in the conference, South Florida. That opened up some room for UNT and Tulane to move into the rankings after a pair of wins: the Green Wave handled the Florida Atlantic University Owls on homecoming, while the Mean Green earned their first-ever AP Poll ranking following a 53-24 route of the UAB Blazers.

James Madison still leads all G5 teams in the poll, and has slowly risen to a College Football Playoff favorite. The Dukes are 9-1 on the year and have been dominant down the stretch, and their only loss on the year was to Louisville.

At this point, Tulane is in the driver's seat to host the American Conference Championship Game. The Green Wave needs to win its final two games against the Temple Owls and the Charlotte 49eres to secure that spot, but the team currently has the tiebreaker over North Texas. From there, the team could have a real shot at the CFP with a victory.
