One day after the Huskies announced a big matchup with South Carolina in 2026, they have announced another contest with the Gamecocks for the 2027 campaign.

FRIDAY, AM: One day after announcing the 2026 matchup at Mohegan Sun, Connecticut has announced it will play South Carolina in 2027 as well. This game will come as part of the Ally Tipoff and will be held in Charlotte, N.C.

THURSDAY, AM: While the UConn women's basketball program has played only one game so far this season, it's apparently never too early to start paying attention to next season also.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that the Huskies will take part in the prestigious Hall of Fame Classic next season and that they will play perennial power South Carolina.

The game will be played on Nov. 24, right around Thanksgiving. It will take place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Ct. The game time and ticket information are not available yet.

    About the matchup

While no one knows exactly how these teams will line up one year from now, this is sure to be the biggest regular season matchup of the next campaign. UConn is the defending national champion and enters this season at No. 1 overall.

South Carolina enters this season at No. 2 overall and has won three national championships in this decade. They lost to UConn in the title game a season ago, and have have earned a No. 1 seed in the last five NCAA Tournaments. The Gamecocks are coached by Dawn Staley, who has turned into one of the premiere coaches in college basketball - men's or women's.

Despite the loss of reigning Player of the Year Paige Bueckers, the Huskies look primed for another deep run in March.
