Ray Allen will be in the building on Saturday when the Huskies take on BYU at TD Garden in Boston.

University of Connecticut men's basketball legend (and Basketball Hall of Famer) Ray Allen will be honored on Saturday night as the No. 3 Huskies take on No. 7 BYU at TD Garden in Boston, Mass. It's part of the Hall of Fame Series and tip-off time is 7 p.m. ET.

    About Allen's time at Connecticut

Allen, originally from South Carolina, spent three years in Storrs from 1993-1996. He played in 101 games in those three years, averaging 19.0 total points per game. His junior year, he was a first-team All-America selection, averaging 23.4 ppg and shooting 46.6 percent from three-point range. That mark led the Big East Conference.

He helped the Huskies reach the NCAA Tournament all three years, as they lost in the Sweet 16 (Florida, 1994), Elite 8 (UCLA, 1995), and Sweet 16 (Mississippi State). He was also a Big East Player of the Year.

About Allen's time in the NBA

One of the best shooters in NBA history, he spent 18 years in the league with the Milwaukee Bucks, Seattle SuperSonics, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. A 10-time All-Star, he was also a two-time All-NBA selection and a two-time NBA champion. He averaged 18.9 ppg and shot exactly 40 percent from three-point range.

His teaming up with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in Boston ushered in the era of the NBA's 'Big Three,' which dominated league circles through much of the 2010s.

He also hit one of the biggest shots in NBA Finals history, helping lead the Heat to a win over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals. The Heat ultimately won the series, and the title.

    About this UConn team

The Huskies will enter Saturday's game at 3-0, but they haven't been challenged yet. They've blown out low-major opponents in New Haven, UMass-Lowell and Columbia thus far.

However, the schedule is about to get very difficult, as the Huskies will take on ranked opponents BYU, Arizona, Florida, Kansas, and Illinois before the Christmas holiday. They'll also play Texas out of the SEC.

Four Huskies players currently average in double-figures, led by Tarris Reed Jr., who averages 19.5 points and 10 rebounds. Solo Ball chips in with 18.3 ppg and four rebounds.
