The NFL takes concussions series these days. There are plans and protocols in place, with the team and also independent observes. And they don't want anyone messing with those protocols.
The New York Giants did that last week though, and the league came down hard on them Friday, with fines totaling $315,000 for violating policy. The team was fined $200,000, Giants coach Brian Daboll $100,000 and rookie running back Cam Skattebo $15,000.
Daboll and Skattebo both entered the medical tent while Dart was being evaluated after a hard hit.
Here's the story from NYGiants Roundtable writer Ashish Mathur.
NFL Fines Giants $200K, Brian Daboll, Cam Skattebo Punished as Well
Remember when Jaxson Dart entered the medical tent in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles? The NFL just fined the New York Giants for what Brian Daboll and Cam Skattebo did.
Daboll told reporters after the game that he had apologized to the team's doctor and addressed his actions further a day later.
"I'll say this, like I said last night, I went in, didn't actually go in, just stuck my head in to see how our quarterback was doing. Just asked him, 'How you doing?'" Daboll said last week. "In no way would I want a player to come back out there that wasn't ready to play. I think I have great respect for that process."
The Giants (2-5) play the Eagles (5-2) in Philadelphia on Sunday. Game time is 1 p.m. ET.
