All things must come to an end, including the four-game winning streak for the Chicago Bears.
The Baltimore Ravens ended the Bears' winning streak with a 30-16 loss at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday. Chicago got out to a 6-0 lead after two field goals from kicker Cairo Santos.
Santos played his first game since the 25-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. Santos had been out with a thigh injury.
Baltimore scored 10 points in the second quarter to go up 10-6 at halftime. The Ravens scored six more points in third quarter before Chicago finally found the end zone.
D'Andre Swift scored the team's first touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter on a two-yard scamper to make it 16-13 Ravens.
Baltimore answered back with a 10-yard touchdown pass to increase its lead to 23-13, and held the Chicago offense to another field goal.
The Ravens iced the game with a two-yard Derrick Henry rushing touchdown.
The loss was especially frustrating because it felt like one that the Bears should have won. Lamar Jackson didn't play even though the Ravens' injury report looked like he would return from a hamstring injury that has kept him out of the lineup since Week 4.
Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley only missed five passes and threw for 186 passing yards and one touchdown. He also ran for 53 yards on the ground on eight carries.
Chicago had some untimely injuries to key members of the secondary heading into the game. Cornerbacks Kyler Gordon (groin) and Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder) were ruled out.
The secondary was already hurting with Jaylon Johnson out with a groin injury. Johnson suffered the injury during training camp and missed the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings. He returned to action against the Detroit Lions in Week 2, but reinjured his groin and has not played since.
Chicago's struggles in stopping the run continued in the Ravens game. After the loss, the Bears have now allowed the fifth-most rushing yards per game in the NFL at 143.29. Henry led Baltimore with 72 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Baltimore finished with 177 rushing yards as a team.
Quarterback Caleb Williams threw for his second-highest passing yards total this season, with his best of 298 coming in the 31-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3. Williams ended with 285 passing yards but had one interception as well.
The Bears will look to rebound against the Cincinnati Bengals next on Nov. 2 at Paycor Stadium.
