Cole Kmet embraces Chicago's grit, choosing freezing temps over heat. He embodies the city's tough, lunch-pail mentality on the field.

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet has been with the organization for six seasons now and has truly embraced the culture of the Windy City.

He was drafted out of Notre Dame in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has been able to keep himself on the field, only playing in 16 games during his rookie season. Outside of that, he has played in 17 games each year.

He sat down with Chicago Bears sideline reporter Lauren Screeden on the "Sippin' With Screeden" podcast, and they played a game of Would You Rather.

She first asked him if he would rather player in cold temperatures or in the Miami heat. Kmet didn't talk long to answer, instantly going with the colder temps.

"Freezing Chicago temps? Easy," Kmet said. "Yeah, I just can't stand the heat. Anything above like 90, 95 is just too hot. Yeah. Too sweaty. Things get too wet. Hard to catch the ball. Definitely freezing cold in Chicago."

Before playing at Notre Dame, Kmet was a four-star recruit in the Rivals Industry Rankings for the 2017 class. He played high school football at St. Viator in Arlington Heights, Illinois, which is not too far from Chicago.

Kmet is part of a tight end duo that the Bears have this season, with rookie Colston Loveland, who was drafted out of Michigan in April.

Kmet has played in every game this season, accounting for 116 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Since joining the NFL in 2020, he has 2,708 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns. He set a career high in receiving yards (719) in 2023.

Kmet really understands the bring your lunch pail to work mentality that is at the heart of the Chicago Bears and even more so in the NFC North.

It is great to see the franchise drafting players who truly embody that sentiment.

Kmet and the Bears will bring that mentality back home after a two-game road stretch in which they went 2-0. It will be the Bears' first home game since their 31-14 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Chicago is now 3-2 heading into its Week 7 matchup with the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are 1-5 under first-year head coach Kellen Moore.

The spread favors the Bears by 4.5 points on ESPN BET

Kickoff from Soldier Field will be at noon CT on Fox as the Bears go for a fourth straight win.
