Buffalo Has Been Linked to Several WR Trades in Recent Weeks

The Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints are set to play one another Sunday at Highmark Stadium, but could the two teams become trade partners shortly after that?

John Sigler of USA Today seems to think so.

The Saints Wire reporter seemingly expects New Orleans to head into Week 5 with a 0-4 record and possibly looking to start selling off some pieces and stockpiling draft capital.

Sigler named four players the Saints could look to offload — receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, running back Alvin Kamara, and quarterback Spencer Rattler —as well as naming likely trade packages each could command.

He has Olave being shipped to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 2026 first-round pick, Kamara going to the Los Angeles Chargers for a 2026 sixth-round pick, and Rattler heading to the Los Angeles Rams for two 2026 fifth-round picks.

But perhaps even more interestingly for Bills fans, Sigler believes the team is a fit for Shaheed — and he believes a 2026 third-round pick would be enough for Buffalo to pry the 27-year-old wideout away from New Orleans.

“Buffalo's quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry has experience with Shaheed from their time together in New Orleans and would probably put in a good word to get this deal across the finish line,” Sigler wrote.

Receiver isn’t as glaring of a need for the Bills as it was last season.

Second-year WR Keon Coleman is off to an impressive start, logging 14 catches on 18 targets for 158 yards — all team highs — and a touchdown, while Khalil Shakir isn’t far behind with 11 catches, 121 yards and a touchdown.

Free-agent additions Joshua Palmer (eight catches, 113 yards) and Elijah Moore (four receptions, 64 yards) are all solid depth options as well, and Buffalo’s “everybody eats” mentality is serving the team well.

But given the Bills’ trouble getting past the AFC Championship Game—and the Kansas City Chiefs, specifically—adding another playmaker of Shaheed’s caliber could be a worthwhile investment.

The Weber State alum has 14 catches, 120 yards and a touchdown through three games this season, and he’s just two years removed from a breakout season, in which he totaled 46 receptions, 719 yards and five touchdowns.
