It wasn’t pretty, but the Denver Broncos pulled out of London with a 13-11 win over the New York Jets on Sunday, earning them a top-10 placement in Bleacher Report’s Week 7 NFL power rankings.

“Defense was certainly how the Broncos got past the Jets in London Sunday,” the B/R NFL Staff wrote in a recent article. “On a day where Denver's offense was underwhelming (and then some), the Broncos schwacked the Jets. New York had all of 82 total yards. After you factor in the yardage lost due to nine Denver sacks, the Jets had -10 passing yards—the fewest passing yards a team has had in the 21st century.”

The Broncos have moved up one spot from No. 11 to No. 10 after Week 6. Make no mistake, the only reason Denver is considered a top-10 team is its defense, which brings nightmares for opposing offenses, and it was no different in Week 6.

The Denver defense was the sole reason for the Broncos escaping with a win against the now 0-6 Jets. The Broncos’ offense completely disappeared, held to just one touchdown against one of the league's worst defenses. Still, the standings only see Denver’s Week 6 as a win, and they earn a slight move up in the power rankings heading into Week 7.

Nik Bonitto protected his league-leading sack total, recording one more on Sunday and bringing his total to 8.0 through six games. In total, the Broncos' defense sacked Jets quarterback Justin Fields nine times in London for a loss of 55 yards. The pressure was on Fields the entire game, limiting him to just 45 passing yards in four quarters of football.

New York was held to 82 total yards in the game, a shameful display of football from the Jets. Denver’s defense held them to just a 13.3% third-down conversion rate on 15 attempts and just 1.4 yards per play. By all means, it should have been a blowout.

While they still earned a move up in the power rankings, the Broncos have much more to prove if they want to be seen as true contenders. The offense needs a spark. It needs consistency. It needs to prove it can at least support the stellar defense. So far, it hasn’t done that. Week 7 against the New York Giants needs to be a bounce-back game for the Broncos' offense if they want to be taken seriously as a whole.
