Week 6 saw the Denver Broncos squeeze out a 13-11 win over the winless New York Jets in a matchup that made it seem as if both teams were fighting for a top draft pick for any Londoners who were present but don’t follow the NFL. The Broncos did not look anywhere close to a true contender, and it falls entirely on the offense.

Quarterback Bo Nix didn’t have a great game under center for Denver, racking up a mediocre 174 passing yards and one touchdown. It wasn't a bad game for the second-year slinger, but it wasn’t a convincing performance in a week that provided him with all the opportunities in the world, as the Jets have one of the worst defenses in the league.

Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report gave Nix a ‘C’ grade for his Week 6 performance.

“Weird things tend to happen during the International Series. Case in point, Bo Nix completed only three second-half passes Sunday against the Jets, yet the Denver Broncos still made a fourth-quarter comeback to win by two points,” Sobleski wrote in a recent article. “The second-year quarterback still needs to be more aggressive and perform better down the stretch than he did Sunday.”

It’s the third time this season that the 25-year-old has failed to throw for at least 200 yards, meaning the Broncos offense has been held to under 200 passing yards in half of their games.

Inconsistency has been the name of the game for Denver in 2025. It shows flashes of dominance, especially defensively, but then follows those performances up with outings that don’t resemble those of a playoff team.

Still, the Broncos have won three in a row. Nix and the Broncos offense were firing on all cylinders in Week 4 against the hurt Cincinnati Bengals, and followed it up with a win against the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5. For the offense to go out the next week and put up just 246 total yards against New York halted all confidence in the team.

It begs the question of how much of it can be attributed to the game being held overseas in London. Still, there’s no excuse for the Broncos’ Week 6 offensive display, and they’re lucky to fly back to the United States with a win. Simply put, it would’ve been a disaster if they failed to beat a New York team that tallied just 82 total yards.

A win is a win, but Broncos fans expect better from the offense in the future. If the teams want to keep their spot firmly in playoff talks, the offense needs to play like a playoff team. Their next game comes against the New York Giants on Sunday. Kick off is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. EST.
