Veteran running back Jerome Ford goes from questionable to active on the Cleveland Browns' Week 13 injury report against the San Francisco 49ers

Shedeur Sanders is slated to make his first home start at Huntington Bank Field on Sunday, with the San Francisco 49ers in town for what should be a cold and windy afternoon.

The rookie fifth-round pick made his NFL debut at home two weeks ago against the Baltimore Ravens, coming in for fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel in the second half, who had left the game due to a concussion. With Gabriel clearing the concussion protocol this week, he'll now serve as Sanders' primary backup for the first time this season.

The Browns had already ruled out three players leading into the weekend. That list included DE Alex Wright and DT Adin Huntington with quad injuries and TE Brenden Bates with an ankle injury. For Wright it's his third straight game being ruled out, after suffering the injury against the New York Jets in Week 10. Huntington and Bates suffered their ailments in last week's win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Cleveland also listed RB Jerome Ford as questionable at the conclusion of Friday's practice this week after popping up on the injury report and leaving practice early on Wednesday. On Thursday, he didn't practice at all, but returned in a limited capacity to round out the work week. Prior to kickoff with the 49ers, Ford was cleared and made active, officially.

The entire list of Browns inactives includes:

    DE Alex Wright
    DT Adin Huntington
    TE Brenden Bates
    G Zak Zinter
    T Cornelius Lucas
    WR Jamari Thrash

San Francisco had a relatively uneventful injury report aside from Christian McCaffrey being absent the first two days of practice for what the team labeled as something that wasn't injury related/rest.

The 49ers ruled out three players on Friday, including kicker Eddy Piñeiro. They elevated veteran kicker Matt Gay off the practice squad on Saturday in order to make him active against the Browns. It will be his second consecutive week handling their kicking duties since being signed to the practice squad on Nov. 19. He went 2-for-2 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points in last week's win over the Carolina Panthers.

    K Eddy Piñeiro (hamstring)
    DE Sam Okuayinonu (ankle)
    LB Tatum Bethune (ankle)
    RB Jordan James
    WR Jordan Watkins
    OL Connor Colby
    DT Kevin Givens
