Despite enduring a home invasion while he was making his NFL debut, rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is solely on football as he prepares to make his first start for Cleveland Browns

Since his arrival in Cleveland back in April, Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders has been solely focused on football. So even after his house was burglarized while he was making his NFL debut on Sunday night in a 23-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Sanders remains in a good headspace just days before he'll make his first start.

"Mentally, emotionally, I'm in a great place overall," Sanders said of the incident. "In life, there's always going to be adversity. Things aren't always going to go as planned. I would say I'm prepared for everything."

According to a news release from the Medina County Sheriff's Office, three masked suspects entered Sanders' home around 6:46 pm and stole up to $200,000 in property. The incident was captured on surveillance cameras and show the trio of suspects entering the home, then exiting the home with some of Sanders' property. The incident remains under investigation.

Regardless, Sanders' hasn't lost his sense of humor. He even noted that there was one thing the burglars didn't take.

"And none of my jewelry got took anyway," he said with a smile. "So now it's just caught slipping. It happens."

Sanders saw his first NFL action in relief of fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel on Sunday, taking over after halftime as Gabriel was sidelined with a concussion. He went on to complete just 4-of-16 passes for 47 yards and threw his first career interception as well.

The performance ended on a positive note though, with Sanders' nearly orchestrating a game tying drive in the closing minutes. Now the stage is set for the fifth-round pick to start for the first time in the NFL.

Even with all kinds off distractions swirling around him, football continues to be all that's on his mind.

"I know this is a trending topic that my house got broken into, but I am in a mental space now to where it's not too much that could phase me honestly, that's going on," he said. "I don't even chck my phone. Too many people have been texting me, 'are you okay?' Yes, I'm fine, I didn't get robbed, my house did.
