Truth about Cleveland Browns' inexperienced wide receiver room revealed by star wideout Jerry Jeudy

It's no secret the Cleveland Browns wide receiver room leaves a lot to e desired in terms of proven talent.

The group is headlined by Jerry Jeudy, of course, who showed during his first season in Cleveland that he can be a No. 1 wide receiver, racking up 90 catches and over 1,200 yards on way to his first Pro Bowl. For him the 2025 season is about proving he can do it again.

Behind him though, there are plenty of questions. The Browns leaned hard into 2023 third-round pick Cedric Tillman being ready to take on the No. 2 wide receiver role. 2024 fifth-round pick Jamari Thrash also had a strong camp and preseason to earn the slot wide receiver role.

Meanwhile, Cleveland added undrafted rookie Isaiah Bond to the room last month, hoping to diversify the group with a player who possess raw speed. Training camp feel good story Gage Larvadain earned himself a spot on the roster as well, but still has to translate his performance to meaningful games.

Despite there being plenty of doubts, particularly outside the building about the collection of players in that group, Jeudy believes his wideout brethren are poised to prove people wrong.

"I'm around these guys every day, I know what they're capable of," Jeudy said ahead of the Browns Week 1 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. "I practice with these guys so I see what they do out there on the field each and every day. So a lot of outsiders may not know, but the people inside know who we’ve got and that's why we got who we’ve got."

The Browns are certainly hoping Jeudy's right about his teammates and that the young and inexperienced group will make a leap this season. That would also go a long way in helping Jeudy.

Opposing defenses preparing for Cleveland this year will certainly be game planning to take away the 2020 first-round pick and make the other weapons prove they're a real threat. With more attention coming his way, Jeudy has confidence he'll still get his.

"It might be a little bit difficult this year now that you got a little bit more eye attention on me, but at the end of the day, it's only so much you could do," said Jeudy. "And we got a great group of guys in the back end, so it is going to be hard to just focus on me when you got Cedric [Tillman], Isaiah [Bond] Jamari Thrash on the other side. So, good luck."
