With the Arizona Cardinals preparing for their upcoming primetime matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, Arizona had announced the return of star quarterback Kyler Murray has now come out by ESPN Josh Weinfuss , Murray is fact not returning and will be out for another week.
This will be Jacoby Brissett's third-straight start for the Cardinals. According to Yahoo! Sports Andy Backstrom Jonathan Gannon has nothing but complete confidence going into MNF with backup quarterback Brissett, stating "he is prepared and ready for this moment."
After Thursday, when Gannon reported that Murray would be starting, but was very vague in his comments, leading to the announcement that he will not start but will keep Brissett in the starting position.
With Brissett starting this matchup coming off of losing three games in a row by a total of 13 points combined. The absence of Murray does give Dallas a bit of breathing room, not having to worry as much about the dual threat.
Depending on Kyler Murray's rehab in the next 48hrs as he works towards availability, Murray could possibly play a significant role in the matchup. There is a chance we do see a lot of Murray on Monday and Gannon surprises the Cowboys with making them think that Brissett was the guy, also known as "Belichick games."
There is multiple differences between Brissett and Murray.
Brissett has more of a pocket-veteran passer type, less mobile and honestly just a different style of play. Where Murray is going to improvise and create more plays.
Without Murray the Cardinals rushing average is about 91 yards per game, with Kyler Murray at the helm the rushing average is about 118.2 yards per game.
Dallas is hoping to not see Murray on the field. Without him would make for a much more structured matchup on the defensive side of the ball for the Cowboys.
