The Kansas City Chiefs put the NFL world back on notice after a slow start in 2025, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes proved he can still be the best in the league. He was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his Week 4 performance against the Baltimore Ravens.

The former two-time MVP threw for 270 yards and four touchdowns on Sunday on his way to the Player of the Week honors. Mahomes made history against the Ravens, becoming the fastest quarterback in NFL history to 250 passing touchdowns, doing so in just 116 games.

It is Mahomes’ 11th time earning the honors since entering the league in 2017. The last time he won the award was in Week 12 of 2023.

In typical Mahomes fashion, the 30-year-old refused to take all the credit for his dominant Week 4 performance.

“They executed well on the offensive line, blocked extremely well. When that happens, you can get the football out and let guys make plays,” Mahomes said after the 37-20 victory. “As far as scheme, I knew where to throw the ball on time, and other than a few plays in the beginning of the game, I thought we did a great job executing all day.”

After a start to the season in which many football fans cast doubts on the end of his and the Chiefs’ dominance, Mahomes silenced doubters and put on a classic performance to keep his team from falling to 1-3 through the first four weeks of the season.

With the win, the Chiefs now move into second place in the AFC West. After torching the Ravens' secondary for 37 points, Mahomes has led Kansas City to the most offensive points in the division, shutting down rumors that the offense is no longer a serious threat.

Mahomes ranks third in the NFL with a QBR of 75.1, totaling seven passing touchdowns to one interception heading into Week 5. The Mahomes scramble has also been back in play in 2025, tallying two touchdowns on the ground as well. He remains the team’s leading rusher after four games with 130 yards on 22 carries.

Mahomes and the Chiefs look to carry their momentum into Jacksonville as they take on the Jaguars on Monday night. Kick off is set for 8:15 p.m. EST.
