INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Jonathan Taylor rewarded the Indianapolis Colts with a classic performance last Sunday in a win over the Denver Broncos, and now the NFL has bestowed an honor upon Taylor by naming him the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week.
Taylor had 25 carries for 165 yards (6.6 avg.) and caught both of his pass targets for 50 yards (25.0 avg.) and a seven-yard touchdown in the Colts' 29-28 victory. It was Taylor's seventh consecutive game with 70-plus rushing yards, which is the longest active streak in the NFL, and he now leads the NFL in rushing yards through two weeks, with 236 yards.
It was also Taylor's fifth career game with 200-plus yards of offense and at least one total touchdown, tying Edgerrin James for the most in franchise history.
Taylor is the first Colts player to have 150-plus rushing yards and 50-plus receiving yards in the same game since Marshall Faulk in Week 13 of 1998, and Taylor also passed Eric Dickerson (24) for the second-most 100-yard rushing games in franchise history.
This is the fourth time in Taylor's career that he's been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week Fourth time, and it's the first time since Week 16 of last year.
