Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts and WR A.J. Brown were close friends before the Eagles acquired Brown from the Tennessee Titans in 2022.
Hurts and Brown have led the Eagles to the Super Bowl twice, with Philadelphia beating the Kansas City Chiefs last season.
Even though the Eagles have gotten off to a 4-0 start this season, Brown has been frustrated with his role on offense. The Pro Bowler only has 14 catches for 151 yards and one touchdown.
The 151 yards receiving is the lowest output in a four-game stretch for Brown since he arrived in Philadelphia in 2022.
Asked about the state of his relationship with Brown on Wednesday, Hurts said, "It's good. We share a great passion for this game and we're focused on this week. You try to play the game, you try to play the position, and you try to go out there and execute, and you approach it that way."
"And obviously, I think with leveraging and using this word leverage, that's to put guys in positions to make plays and also take advantage of opportunities when they come. And then everybody being in sync, so all these things can come to light. And so the main focus is going out there, playing team offense, being on the same page, striving to do that. And when you play, when you desire to play team offense, you got to understand that everyone has an impact on every lasting play."
Kevin Patullo's offense is averaging 138.0 passing yards per game, the second-fewest in the NFL.
Hurts has 609 passing yards and five passing touchdowns on the season.
The Eagles face the Denver Broncos in Week 5. Don't be surprised if Hurts targets Brown a lot after the WR took to social media to vent about his frustrations with the offense.
