Five Philadelphia Eagles players were named to this season's Pro Bowl roster.
LB Zack Baun, DT Jalen Carter, DB Cooper DeJean, C Cam Jurgens and CB Quinyon Mitchell will represent the Eagles at the Pro Bowl.
DeJean and Mitchell are first-time Pro Bowlers and both players spoke about the big achievement with reporters.
"It's a great honor and I'm really appreciative," Mitchell said. "I'm really blessed and excited and thankful for my teammates, coaches, and all the staff. The mental aspect of the game, learning about the game and processing things, that's the biggest difference from last year. The game has slowed down. You have to have confidence and the willingness to get better each and every day and that's the approach I've taken. Yesterday's news is old news. I just want to get back to work and get better."
"It's cool," DeJean said. "It's a cool accomplishment. Obviously, it wouldn't be possible without the guys on our defense and in our facility who make my job easier. Especially the guys up front and the linebackers and our coaches in the DB room."
Mitchell leads the NFL with 17 passes defended. He also has 32 solo tackles.
Meanwhile, DeJean has two interceptions, 16 passes defended and 59 solo tackles.
The Eagles are 10-5 on the season. They clinched the NFC East after beating the Washington Commanders last season.
Philadelphia has two games left in the regular season against the Buffalo Bills and Commanders. Nick Sirianni's group is currently the third seed in the NFC playoffs.
The Eagles won the Super Bowl last season against the Kansas City Chiefs. Only time will tell if they can repeat as champions.
Entering the Bills game, the Eagles are 16th in the NFL in points per game and third in points per game allowed.
"We have bigger goals and it's all about the team," DeJean said. "This isn't an individual sport. It's a team game and that's the way it should be treated, in my opinion."
