The Philadelphia Eagles are 4-1 this season, so you wouldn't think anyone there would be on the hot seat. But then you look at how they've actually been playing, and you will come to the conclusion that something is seriously wrong.
The Eagles rank 30th in the NFL in offense through five weeks, placing 31st in passing offense and 25th in rushing. That's in spite of having three of the most dynamic weapons in football in the form of A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and, last year's rushing leader, Saquon Barkley.
So what exactly is going on? Well, Philadelphia lost offensive coordinator Kellen Moore during the offseason and decided to promote passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo to the role. Clearly, the early returns have not been great, and Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox feels that Patullo could be on the hot seat because of it.

"There's still time for the Eagles to find their groove, and they remain one of the top teams in the NFC," Knox wrote. "However, we can't ignore the fact that, just two years ago, they demoted defensive coordinator Sean Desai in-season despite being in the playoff hunt."
The Eagles were the eighth-ranked offensive team in the NFL last season, so to plummet all the way to the bottom of the league is beyond jarring. It certainly isn't all Patullo's fault. There is obviously some sort of disconnect between Jalen Hurts and his receivers. But that won't stop the axe from falling on Patullo if this continues.
Consider that Philadelphia did not even complete a pass during the second half of its win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers two weeks ago and that Philly was outscored 18-0 in the fourth quarter of its loss to the Denver Broncos this past Sunday. Something has to give.
There has been speculation that the Eagles could trade disgruntled wide receiver A.J. Brown, but removing one of your best talents from the offense isn't a great way to solve the problem. Especially not during the middle of the season (then again, Brown's behavior isn't helping, either).
We'll see if Philadelphia can right the ship in the coming weeks, but if not, we cannot discount the possibility that Patullo could lose his job.
