Jacksonville survives OT thanks to a Cam Little FG and knockout defense, narrowly escaping Arizona after a rollercoaster performance in Week 12.

The Jacksonville Jaguars squeaked by the Arizona Cardinals, 27-24, in overtime on Sunday at State Farm Stadium.

The Week 12 matchup in Glendale, Arizona, was one of three NFL games that went into extra time on Sunday, joining big matchups in Detroit, where the Lions held off the Giants; and in Kansas City, where the Chiefs pulled off a comeback over the Colts.

The win puts the Jags (7-4) within striking distance of division-leading Indianapolis (8-3), as Jacksonville moves into position for at least a wild-card berth come playoff time.

The Jaguars got the ball first in OT and scored on a Cam Little field goal with 7:46 on the clock.

Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett, who was sacked six times Sunday, had to be checked in Arizona's blue tent after he was taken down while scrambling in a 3rd quarter. Brissett quickly re-entered the contest and kept Arizona's hopes alive until OT, when he threw sailed a pass over WR Xavier Weave on fourth-and-4 from Jacksonville's 42 to end the game.

Jacksonville's victory was not decisive and was never a sure thing.

QB Trevor Lawrence went 18-for-30 for what turned out to be 256 passing yards and three touchdowns. But Lawrence threw three interceptions (one in the end zone), was sacked three times, and never looked confident against a stout Arizona defense, which forced four turnovers.

Lawrence was strip-sacked in the opening quarter as Cards rookie DL Walter Nolan III recovered the fumble and scored a TD. (Nolan later left the game with a knee injury.)

But the former No. 1 pick from the 2021 draft delivered when it counted on Sunday, leading the Jaguars on go-ahead scores twice in the fourth quarter before Cardinals K Chad Ryland booted a 29-yard FG to force overtime.

"Definitely not ideal, and probably not a recipe to win," Lawrence acknowledged in the postgame press conference. "But I think it just speaks to this team's resilience and finding a way to win."

Asked after the game if he felt more relief or excitement with a game like this, head coach Liam Cohn said, "We're not going to apologize for a win around here."

"Winning is what matters," Cohn said, referencing the momentum shifts and the offense's inability to get into a rhythm.

Jaguars receivers Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington, along with banged-up RB Travis Etienne Jr., scored on passing TDs on Sunday. Etienne had 15 carries for 86 yards, while TE Brenton Strange led receivers with five catches for 93 yards in his first game back from injured reserve.

Brissett went 33-for-49 passing for 317 yards and a TD. WR Michael Wilson had another strong outing, with 10 catches for 118 yards, as the Cardinals fall to 3-8.

The Jaguars now trail the Colts by one game in the AFC South, with Indy on the schedule twice before the end of the regular season – in Week 14 in Jacksonville and Week 17 in Indianapolis.

Jacksonville next travels to Nashville to take on the 1-10 Tennessee Titans on Sun., Nov. 30, in a game set for 11 a.m. ET.
