The New York Jets will play one of their more interesting games of the 2025 season on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
While on paper it seems possible the Jets could come away with a win because the Bengals aren't exactly a great team, evident by some of their losses, it's unlikely the Jets do so, given the injuries they're facing and the brutal football they've played to start the year.
However, if there's a time for the Jets to win a game, there's really no better time than now, if the team were healthy. With Joe Flacco under center, a below-average Bengals defense, and other factors, I actually thought this was a game they could possibly come away with.
There are still many questions for the Jets to answer on Sunday, and I'm a bit upset with what Aaron Glenn did to the media earlier in the week. Look, I've been on record plenty of times saying that I don't think the Jets should get rid of Glenn, but he doesn't need to act like he knows the most in the room every time he talks, and when speaking about the upcoming quarterback situation, it sounds like he did just that.
“That’s exactly why I’m saying it: Because I don’t want to,” Glenn said, per the NY Post. “I don’t know how many times I gotta answer that. It’s not gonna change.”
It was later announced that the Jets would have to start Justin Fields due to the injury to Tyrod Taylor.
“We had a great week of practice with our guys,” Glenn said, when asked if this has impacted preparation at all. “Our guys know, we’re gonna keep that between us and that’s how it’s gonna be.”
I get it —times are tough for the Jets; they're expected to win a lot more than they have, and while things weren't exactly expected to be all sunshine and rainbows all year, a 0-7 start certainly puts some strain on everybody in the room.
