Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray has had a foot injury for nearly a month now, and it hasn't been getting any better. At least not good enough to get him back out on the field.
The Cardinals decided to give him time to get better by placing him on injured reserve on Wednesday, which means he'll miss at least four weeks. He'll be eligible to return for the Nov. 30 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Murray, the 28-year-old quarterback who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has completed 110 of 161 passes for 962 yards, with six touchdowns and three interceptions. He was injured in the Oct. 5 loss to the Tennessee Titans. He finished the game, but hasn't played since.
Jacoby Brissett has been starting in his absence and played well in the Cardinals 27-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. The win snapped a five-game losing streak. Here is Brad Krejci's game story for our Cardinals Roundtable site.
Arizona Cardinals Stun Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football
The Arizona Cardinals defense comes up in a massive way to shut down Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys at home on Monday Night Football.
Murray is in the second season of a five-year, $230 million contract with the Cardinals. Brissett has done some good things with Murray out, so it's going to be interesting to see what happens at the end of the month.
The 3-5 Cardinals are at Seattle on Sunday. Game time is 4:05 p.m. ET. This will be a tough one for the Cards, because the Seahawks are 6-2 and have won three straight, including an impressive 38-14 win at Washington on national TV on Sunday night.
