The New York Giants locker room is fired up.

The New York Giants will start rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart for the rest of the season and the locker room is excited.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Giants locker room is "fired up" about Dart starting over Russell Wilson.

"And inside the Giants locker room, I’m told, they’re fired up," Russini wrote. "Several players on both sides of the ball, including team captains, reached out right away with calls and FaceTimes to let Dart know they’re behind him."

The Giants selected Dart with the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The 22-year-old has taken six snaps this season, but he has yet to throw the ball.

That will change in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

“He has moxie. He has a legit chance of being great,” a Giants person texted Russini.

Dart played for Ole Miss last college football season. He threw for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns and rushed for 495 yards and three touchdowns. The youngster is a talented thrower and runner, which is why the Giants were so excited when Dart fell to them in the draft.

"Definitely looking forward to it," Dart said about starting. "Really just excited to get out there on the field, compete and play with the guys who put a lot of work in and excited for the opportunity and very humbled for it.

"The biggest thing for me is I just wanna do my best to be a spark. I wanna create excitement on the field. I wanna be explosive when opportunities are there and try to just bring a little bit of swagger."

With Wilson under center, the Giants averaged 17.3 points per game, good for only 27th in the NFL. The hope in New York is that Dart can help the offense score more points moving forward.

"I'm just gonna lay everything I have on the line," Dart said. "That's just the way I play the game. When I step in between those lines, nothing else in the world matters to me except doing everything I can to win it."

The Giants are 0-3. They will probably miss the playoffs again, but as long as Dart plays well, that's all fans really care about moving forward.
