Historic franchises clash as the Green Bay Packers take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pressure on Aaron Rodgers, perhaps from one Micah Parsons, becomes the critical factor in this emotional showdown.

You couldn't ask for a more intriguing matchup for a late-October night in the steel city. The 4-1-1 Green Bay Packers travel east to take on the 4-2 Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football.

On any other night, this would already be a marquee matchup. The Packers are Steelers are two of the most historic franchises in the NFL and they've got a great series going on between them that dates back to 1933 when the Packers beat the then-Pittsburgh Pirates, 37-0.

Also of note was their matchup in Super Bowl XLV, which saw the Packers beat the Steelers, 31-25.

Speaking of that game, if you can believe it, one of the quarterbacks from that contest is still making his rounds around the NFL. That would be none other than Green Bay legend Aaron Rodgers, who at 41, is still one of the best gunslingers in the NFL in 2025.

This game marks the first time he'll play the team that drafted him, helped him become a living legend, and ultimately traded him.

Emotions will be high, but this will ultimately be more than just Aaron Rodgers vs. the Packers or even Aaron Rodgers vs. Jordan Love. This is Packers vs. Steelers, and there's a ton on the line in this one.

Below you'll find all the pertinent info you could need for this game.

    Game Time:

    7:20 PM Central

    TV Channel:

    NBC

    Odds:

    Packers -2.5, per ESPN BET, O/U 45.5

    Packers -3 per BETMGM, O/U 45.5

Key Matchup: Aaron Rodgers vs. Micah Parsons

Simply put, if Rodgers has time to throw the ball, he's going to pick this Packers' secondary apart. Only Xavier McKinney is still enough to stop him through the air, and Rodgers is smart enough to avoid McKinney unless he absolutely has to go his way.

Rodgers is amongst the league leaders in time-to-throw at 2.48 seconds per throw, and every Packers fan knows he's deadly accurate.

If the Packers' defense can't get pressure on Rodgers, it's going to be a long night. That's where Micah Parsons comes in. He'll be double-teamed and triple-teamed, but if he can get a few hits on Rodgers and throw of his impeccable internal clock, the Packers have a chance to get in their former MVP's head a bit.

Key Quote: Aaron Rodgers on retiring as a Packer

"I was there for 18 years," Rodgers said of his time in Green Bay, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "Regardless of when I hang it up, that's the bulk of my career. I'll retire a Packer and see what happens after that. I've got a lot of love for the organization [and] my time there. They asked this week is it a revenge game or whatever. What do I got to be avenging here? They made me a ton of money. I grew up there, spent some of the best years of my life there. I've got nothing but love for the organization."

    Prediction:

    Packers 27, Steelers 24
