The Green Bay Packers have been connected to an intriguing trade deadline move.

The Green Bay Packers are 4-1-1 and sit atop the competitive NFC North entering Week 8, but it's pretty clear that the Packers have some holes.

Perhaps one of Green Bay's most notable areas of weakness is at the cornerback position, which everyone viewed as a potential problem area heading into the season.

It's not that the Packers' corners have been absolutely getting burnt, but some improvement could definitely be used in the secondary.

Matt Bowen and Jeremy Fowler of ESPN recently put together a list of some of the top trade candidates in the NFL with the deadline looming, and making the cut was Tennessee Titans cornerback Roger McCreary.

"More of a ball disrupter than a playmaker (three career interceptions), McCreary is a physical cover corner with the ability to match in the slot and tackle in space," Bowen and Fowler wrote. "While McCreary lacks the impact plays on his résumé, his game meshes with any defense in search of an inside/outside corner who plays with an aggressive demeanor."

McCreary was originally selected by the Titans in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has mostly been a starter for them ever since. He has been very inconsistent throughout his first four professional seasons, but there is no question that he has talent.

Through the first seven games of 2025, McCreary has logged 30 tackles, an interception and a couple of passes defended while posting a 68.6 coverage grade at Pro Football Focus.

Just 25 years old, McCreary could probably benefit from a change of scenery and may feel invigorated in the Packers' defense.

It should be noted, however, that McCreary is slated to hit free agency at the end of the year, so he might only be a half-season rental for Green Bay.

That being said, given that the cost to acquire the Auburn product would probably not be very extravagant, the Packers might be willing to take that gamble.

Green Bay is currently fielding Keisean Nixon and offseason addition Nate Hobbs as its starting corners and could absolutely stand to add some depth behind them.
