The Green Bay Packers suffered a brutal loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, and they were also dealt a horrendous injury blow in the process, losing tight end Tucker Kraft to a serious knee injury.
The initial fear was that Kraft tore his ACL, and on Monday morning, those fears were confirmed.
Kraft did, in fact, tear his ACL, and now, the 24-year-old will miss the remainder of the season, via ESPN's Adam Schefter.
To say this is devastating would be putting it lightly, as Kraft has established himself as one of the most critical figures in the Packers' offense.
Kraft logged 32 catches for 489 yards and six touchdowns this season, cementing himself as Jordan Love's security blank.
The South Dakota State product actually broke out last year, though, when he hauled in 50 receptions for 707 yards and seven scores, averaging 14.1 yards per catch.
Kraft was originally selected by Green Bay in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft in the same draft that the Packers took fellow tight end Luke Musgrave, who flew off the board one round earlier.
At the time, it was looking like Musgrave would actually be prioritized over Kraft, and the former showed some very impressive flashes during his rookie campaign. However, injuries derailed Musgrave over his first couple of seasons, allowing Kraft to step into the spotlight.
Kraft became the Packers' clear-cut No. 1 tight end and was one of the biggest reasons why Green Bay had been 5-1-1 heading into its fateful Week 9 matchup with the Panthers.

Now, the Packers must search for answers. They can either roll with Musgrave as their top tight end for now or swing a trade before the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday.
Perhaps the worst part about all of this is that Kraft will now also likely miss time early next season due to his recovery period from the injury.
Since entering the league back in 2023, Kraft has never missed a game, so this is the first time he has ever dealt with a severe injury throughout his professional career.
Green Bay will aim to bounce back from its tough loss to Carolina when it hosts the Philadelphia Eagles next Monday.
