Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty has earned his first award in the iconic black and silver after being named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his Week 4 performance.

Jeanty finally had his long-awaited breakout game against the Chicago Bears last Sunday, rushing for 138 yards on 21 attempts and scoring one touchdown on the ground. He added two catches and two touchdowns from the passing game to score all three touchdowns for the Raiders. Despite the 25-24 loss to the Bears, Raiders fans saw the dominance that Jeanty can provide for Las Vegas for years to come.

It only took a few weeks for Jeanty to put his name into the Raiders history books, becoming just the third rookie running back in franchise history to have 3 scrimmage touchdowns in a game, joining Bo Jackson in 1987 and Marcus Allen in 1982.

Jeanty led the league in rushing in Week 4, beating out fellow rookie for the Los Angeles Chargers Omarion Hampton. There has been a lot of comparison between the two, but Jeanty proved more impactful in Week 4. After his breakout game, Jeanty leads rookie running backs in rushing yards and attempts through the first four weeks.

The highlight moment of Jeanty’s performance came in the second quarter. After hitting his iconic standing pre-snap stance, Jeanty took the ball between the tackles and came out with a full head of steam. He shed off a defender down the sideline before taking it all the way in for a 64-yard touchdown.

The 2025 6th overall pick downplayed his performance against Chicago, focusing more on how the team was unable to close out the victory.

“Feels alright, I guess. To me, it’s all about winning, not personal performance,” Jeanty told reporters after the game. “I’m more about winning and putting W’s on the stat sheet than my own stats.”

Jeanty and the Raiders look to get back to winning form in Week 5 against the 3-1 Indianapolis Colts. Another dominant performance on the ground for Jeanty would certainly boost a struggling Las Vegas’ chances. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. EST on Sunday.
