The future Hall of Famer didn't mince words.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hates his new NFL helmet.

Rodgers played with the Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD for years, a model now banned by the NFL.

"I hate it," Rodgers said about his new helmet. "I hate it. I wore (the old model) last year, no concussions. Some arbitrary ruling made it obsolete. I should have pushed it more, petitioned the league to let me wear it one more time."

Rodgers never minces his words, so it's not surprising to hear the future Hall of Famer openly bash the NFL's new helmet. He doesn't care what the response will be.

The Steelers, who are 2-1, face the Minnesota Vikings, who are also 2-1, in Week 4 in Ireland. Rodgers is looking forward to the game and representing the Rooney family.

"This game means a lot to all of us, to the league, to the Rooney family, so we want to represent the team and the Rooney legacy well," Rodgers said. "But it's great for the game, to grow the game in so many countries, so being a part of the first game in Ireland is pretty cool. I have Irish heritage, so I'm very excited to get out there. And as far as the travel goes, it is what it is. You've got to suck it up on Friday and stay awake all day. You do that, you should be feeling pretty good Saturday."

Rodgers has thrown seven touchdowns and three interceptions on the season. He has 586 passing yards and is completing 65.1% of his passes.

One of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, Rodgers knows Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores very well.

"They're going to bring pressure at some point, and you have to have some ideas to combat that. So you've got to expect it," Rodgers said. "They do a good job disguising. Everything looks the same, so you don't want them to get going and sack you a bunch and play behind the sticks."

Rodgers has faced the Vikings 30 times during his career. He has a passer rating of 105.4 with 7,401 passing yards, 59 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
