The future Hall of Famer had two touchdowns and an interception.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) beat the New England Patriots (1-2) in Week 3 on the road at Gillette Stadium.

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers went 16 of 23 for 139 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, earning him a "C-" grade from NFL analyst Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report

"For Aaron Rodgers, the only thing of consequence to come out of Sunday's meeting with the Patriots is surpassing former teammate Brett Favre as fourth all-time in passing touchdowns," Sobleski wrote. "Otherwise, he understands the Pittsburgh Steelers won their latest contest because of the defense, which created five turnovers, including two inside their own 5-yard line.

"Rodgers played better than expected through two weeks. The offense took a step back in Week 3. Pittsburgh is still looking for an entire team effort."

Rodgers had a QBR (quarterback rating) of 43.1 and a passer rating (RTG) of 96.1 against the Patriots.

A win is a win for the Steelers, but Rodgers has to play better moving forward if Pittsburgh wants to make the playoffs.

The good news is that Rodgers finished the Steelers-Patriots game strong. The veteran gunslinger threw the game-winning touchdown pass to wideout Calvin Austin III.

"We had to have a drive there," Rodgers said. "Guys made some plays. I thought the important play was the screen there, Kenny (Gainwell) cutting it back inside to give us a third and manageable.

"Then we actually just talked about that in the huddle before the drive, about just a subtle signal on what I might want if I gave that when Cal was on the other side. That was nice he was on the same page. I didn't throw the best ball, but Cal's so dang fast, he made a great play.

"That's what we're supposed to do. We've got to make those plays so we're not in those positions. Up 14-0 we're feeling pretty good about ourselves. We haven't been ahead by two scores yet, two drives, two touchdowns, started fast for the third straight week. Then I just didn't play great. We kind of lost our rhythm, too many penalties and negative yardage plays, and didn't make them pay when we had opportunities."

The 41-year-old Rodgers has thrown for 586 yards on the season. He has seven passing touchdowns and three interceptions.

The one-time Super Bowl champion is completing 65.1% of his passes.

Rodgers and Co. face the Minnesota Vikings (2-1) in Ireland in Week 4.
