The Pittsburgh Steelers could definitely use an offensive boost, particularly in terms of adding more pieces at the skill positions.
And while the Steelers really need another wide receiver above all else, they could also use a more dynamic weapon in the backfield, and Vinnie Iyer has identified a potential solution for them: New York Jets running back Breece Hall.
"The Steelers are forcing Jaylen Warren into too big of a role ahead of Kenneth Gainwell with rookie Kaleb Johnson being a disappointing non-factor," Iyer wrote. "Warren should be more of a complementary reserve to a more explosive scrimmage threat, which Hall represents."
Warren had never been Pittsburgh's lead back before this year, always serving as the No. 2 to the now-departed Najee Harris. Meanwhile, Gainwell has never rushed for 400 yards in any one individual campaign since entering the league with the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2021.
So, yes: the Steelers actually could stand to add a more polished running back, and Hall has a good relationship with Aaron Rodgers from their Jets playing days.

Hall is in the final year of his contract and is widely viewed as a top trade candidate between now and Nov. 4. While Hall has never asked out of New York, he has expressed some clear displeasure with the trade speculation and surely sees the writing on the wall at this point.
The 24-year-old was originally selected by the Jets in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. After tearing his ACL midway through his rookie campaign, he came back and racked up 994 yards and five touchdowns on 4.5 yards per carry while also hauling in 76 receptions for 591 yards and four scores the following year.
Hall was viewed as a breakout candidate heading into 2024 as a result, but he was a pretty big disappointment, finishing with 876 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 4.2 yards per attempt.
Perhaps a change of scenery would do the Iowa State product some good, and with the Steelers sitting at 4-2 and being first place in the AFC North, he would be joining a contender for a change.
Pittsburgh may have to surrender a third-round pick for Hall, though, and after parting with a second-rounder to bag D.K. Metcalf during the offseason, it remains to be seen if the Steelers would be willing to part with another Day 2 pick.
