The Pittsburgh Steelers have revealed some major injury updates before facing the Minnesota Vikings.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing to battle the Minnesota Vikings in Ireland this Sunday, and they may getting a couple of key pieces back for the event.

Steelers defensive backs Joey Porter Jr. and DeShon Elliott, both of whom have missed the last couple of games with respective injuries, were back at practice Wednesday in a limited capacity.

Porter is nursing a hamstring issue while Elliott is recovering from an MCL sprain. Both players were injured in Pittsburgh's season-opening win over the New York Jets.

Of course, just because Porter and Elliott are making progress does not necessarily mean they will 100 percent be available for Week 4. Remember: the operative word is "limited" when describing their return to practice, so we will have to see if they ramp up their activity for the remaining practices in the week before determining whether or not they will be able to play.

Porter is now in his third NFL season after being selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He registered 43 tackles, an interception and 10 passes defended during his rookie campaign and followed that up by recording 70 tackles, a pick and seven passes defended in 2024.

Meanwhile, Elliott was originally selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round back in 2018. He spent three years in Baltimore before joining the Detroit Lions in 2022. The University of Texas product then landed with the Miami Dolphins in 2023 before finally arriving in Steel City last year.

During his debut campaign with the Steelers, Elliott racked up 108 tackles, an interception, a couple of forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and six passes defended.

Both Porter and Elliott are critical pieces in Pittsburgh's secondary, and it is clear that their absences have been felt as the Steelers rank just 26th in pass defense thus far in 2025.

Nevertheless, Pittsburgh has gotten off to a 2-1 start this season and is tied with the Cincinnati Bengals for first place in the AFC North. We'll see if the Steelers can hold down a Vikings offense that posted 48 points against those very same Bengals last Sunday.
