It wasn't a pretty Thursday night for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it's tough to blame anybody on the offensive side of the football. Aaron Rodgers did precisely what he had to do, throwing for 249 yards and four touchdowns.

The two interceptions can't be diminished, but he was still excellent in a tough environment.

Jaylen Warren was also great on the ground, rushing for 16 attempts and 127 yards.

If the Steelers' offense continues to play this way, they should find themselves in a decent position come playoff time.

The defense is a story for another day, but it's something that has to be improved.

Regarding the offense, however, the Steelers have all the reasons in the world to continue to go out and try to improve it as much as possible.

ESPN's Bill Barnwell recently proposed a great idea, pitching a trade that would send the Steelers Rashid Shaheed and a fifth-round pick to the Steelers for a fourth–round pick.

"The Steelers need another wideout across from DK Metcalf. Calvin Austin III averaged a middling 1.5 yards per route run this season before suffering a shoulder injury," Barnwell wrote. "Roman Wilson, the team's third-round pick in the 2024 draft, has two catches in six games across his first two pro campaigns. Ben Skowronek is an ideal fourth or fifth wideout given his work as a blocker and on special teams, but he has played 45 offensive snaps in five games.

"Though Metcalf had an 80-yard touchdown on a long catch-and-run against the Vikings, the Steelers could use a burner who will threaten teams downfield, especially when they line up in their multi-TE sets and sell the run to set up play-action. Austin ran a 4.32 40-yard dash at the combine, but he has just three catches on passes thrown 30 or more yards downfield in his first two-plus seasons as a pro."

Shaheed might not be a staple name to the casual fan, but he's had some really impressive years during his time in New Orleans.

None of his stats jump off the page at times, but he can make that big play.

In 2023, he played in 15 games, posting 719 yards and five touchdowns. He also averaged 17.5 yards per catch a year ago, despite only playing in six contests.
