The nation with the most Borussia Dortmund players in their squad is Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany.
They kicked off their World Cup campaign in style, winning 7-1 against Curacao, with Felix Nmecha and Nico Schlotterbeck starring with goals from the pair of them, immediately establishing themselves as favourites to top their group.

This would be a much more difficult task for the Germans, who would go into half-time trailing 1-0 and losing their star centre half, Nico Schlotterbeck, through an injury that would later turn out to be one that kept him out of the remainder of the tournament.

Their final game was a clash against Ecuador, who still needed 3 points to mathematically secure a spot in the Round of 32. And with Germany having nothing to play for, this showed as Ecuador would go on to win the game 2-1.
Germany has topped their group and will go on into the Round of 32 and face Paraguay in Boston on Monday.
Ramy Bensebaini (Algeria), Marcel Sabitzer and Carney Chukwuemeka (Austria)
Algeria and Austria are in the same group and have had a very similar group phase.
Borussia Dortmund’s Ramy Bensebaini would kick off his World Cup campaign for Algeria against the current reigning champions, Argentina.
This would prove to be a difficult game for Algeria as the superstar quality, particularly from Lionel Messi, would shine through, and condemn Algeria to an opening game defeat 3-0, with the aforementioned Lionel Messi getting a hat trick.

Algeria then faced Jordon and despite Jordan taking the lead in this encounter, Algeria would turn it around and win the game 2-1, with Borussia Dortmund’s Ramy Bensebaini putting in a particularly influential performance, making 13 defensive contributions.

Algeria and Ramy Bensebaini’s last match of the group stages is against Austria, featuring fellow Borussia Dortmund duo Marcel Sabitzer and Carney Chukwuemeka. A draw for both sides would be enough to secure progression into the Round of 32 for each nation, and where 2nd place in this group, currently Austria, would face one of the favourites for the tournament, Spain.
Gregor Kobel (Switzerland), Julian Ryerson (Norway) and Daniel Svensson (Sweden)
And finally, the nations that don’t play each other and with only one Borussia Dortmund representative each.
Firstly, Gregor Kobel, who started all of Switzerland’s three group games and went unbeaten in all three group games as well. Wins against Canada and Bosnia, as well as an opening game draw with Qatar, meant Switzerland progressed as group winners on 7 points and will potentially face Ramy Bensebaini’s Algeria, depending on other results.
REUTERS/Lee SmithJulian Ryerson and Norway had qualification into the Round of 32, secured due to wins against Senegal and Iraq, before their high-profile clash with France, in which Julian Ryerson was rested, and Norway were defeated 4-1.
REUTERS/Pilar OlivaresAnd the final Borussia Dortmund player involved in the World Cup was Daniel Svensson with Sweden, who had a rollercoaster of a group stage, starting with a 5-1 win against Tunisia, then a 5-1 loss to the Netherlands.
Then it all culminated in a 1-1 draw with Japan to secure Sweden a 3rd place spot and progression into the knockouts, where they will face France in New York.
